24/04/2010 NEHYL U10 ASH TROPHY

CAMBERLEY BOYS ROYALS  3    CURLEY PARK RANGERS PUMAS  2

A great game and good result for the Royals. Miles scored yet another hatrick to take his tally to a phenomenal 40 for the season! That was not the whole story though as the game was real end-to-end stuff and with 10 minutes to go we were 2-1 behind. All of the boys contributed with notable performances from Miles, the much improved Lewis, Ben, Adam, Tom and Ryan who came on at half-time. Thomas and Michael both worked very hard and Matthew made some good saves in goal. All in all a well deserved win and hopefully it is enough to progress to the Semi-Final.

Man of the match: Miles, well done

CAMBERLEY BOYS ROYALS  0    HEADLEY SHARKS  2

The Royals were unlucky not to take something from this game. The game was very even and on another day Miles and Tom could and should both have scored. Ben and Adam were confident and were dealing with most of the Headley attacks.

Michael, Lewis and Thomas worked tirelessly in the midfield, and Matthew is gaining more confidence and improving weekend on week. Headley went in at half time 1-0 up, even though there was nothing between the teams.

In the second half Ryan was available to play and came on. Once again the Royals were unlucky not to get an equaliser. Headley scored a second and won the game. These teams play again on the 20th Feb and I wouldn't be surprised if the Royals won 6-0!! Come on boys!

Man of the match was Matthew.

CAMBERLEY BOYS ROYALS  5    FLEET SPURS COMETS  3

This was a clash between the top two, made doubly important after losing the opposite fixture last weekend. The boys started well though and were very organised.

Tom opened the scoring for us with a good finish which settled us well. Both Adam and Ben at the back worked very hard and were tackling and clearing well. We ended the half just in front. The boys came out well in the second half and two quick fire goals from Miles made it 3-0.

His first was a cracking run from his own half, round a couple of defenders and then a great finish and the second a fantastic shot from wide which flew into the top corner. Fleet then started to play a bit themselves though and brought it back to 3-1 before Miles scored his hatrick for 4-1 with another run from just inside his own half and yet another assured finish.

At this stage the game looked dead and buried but Fleet, to their credit, came back very strongly with two goals to take it to 4-3. The boys were desperate to hang on though and some good determination from Lewis, Thomas and Michael and great tackling from Tom and Ryan in particular, who was all over the park, helped us keep our noses in front.

Just before the end another trademark run from his own half from Miles sealed the win for 5-3 and his 32nd goal of the season.

Man of the Match: Ryan for his immense effort throughout the game

CAMBERLEY BOYS ROYALS  6    HOOK UTD PANTHERS  1

An outstanding result again for the Royals who are scoring for fun right now. Tom and Lewis have both slotted in really well for the team and Tom scored an excellent hatrick with three high quality strikes.

Not to be outdone, Miles scored yet another hatrick (his 6th of the season!) to notch up goals 23, 24 and 25 so far! Matthew in goal was excellent with some very good stops and a notable penalty save in the first half.

Thomas got stuck in today to with some good tackles and passing and Adam and Ben were both very resilient at the back. Ryan and Lewis both did well in midfield and both were unlucky not to score.

I have not seen the other results from today yet but this win will move the Royals within a single point of Fleet Spurs who did not play today.

Man of the match to Matthew who had a great game in goal today, well done!

21/11/2009 NEHYL U10 DIVISION 5

CAMBERLEY BOYS ROYALS  5    LISS ATHLETIC ROCKETS  6

This game was the first for Tom Ball. The boys started very well and opened the scoring with a fine strike from Ryan into the top corner. Miles then came very close and the Liss goalkeeper made a fine save.

We were then awarded a penalty which Tom took. He struck the ball very hard and again the keeper saved well. Liss hit us twice on the break to move 2-1 up. Miles then opened his account after turning in a free kick and the game was 2-2 at half time.

We started very well in the second half with two further goals from Miles, the latter an excellent piece of individual skill to go past a defender and round the goalie! Liss hit back though on the break and soon levelled at 4-4. We were caught again on the break as Liss moved 5-4 and then 6-4 up.

With 10 minutes to go the boys were creating good chances and the Liss goalie made a number of very good saves. Miles gave us hope with his 4th of the game to go 6-5 down but we could not find an equaliser. Overall a ‘humdinger’ of a game and the boys were very unlucky.

Matthew played well in goal while Ben and Adam battled hard at the back. There was some great midfield tackling from Michael and Ryan, who also scored a great goal, whilst Tom B was excellent on the ball with some very good passing to mark a fine debut. Miles once again scored some great goals (he is now on 18 for the season) and Thomas W worked very hard.

Man of the match: Scott let the boys vote this week and I am pleased it went to Tom B who had an outstanding debut game – well done

31/10/2009 NEHYL U10 FRIENDLY

CROOKHAM ROVERS  4    CAMBERLEY BOYS VII  3

This game, played as a friendly, allowed both teams to field a mix of their respective U10 teams. Crookham have a team in Division 1 and so this was a good test for Camberley. We had had lots of rain overnight and so the pitch was very muddy – proper footy conditions!

Camberley started very well and Jack B took us into the lead after following up a good shot from Jacob to score with his left foot. Kaine then doubled the lead and we went in at half-time 2-0 up. Crookham mixed their team up at half-time and the second half was more difficult. Daniel made a string of fine saves and Lewie and Adam in defence were all over the place, making good tackles and clearances.

Crookham gradually pegged us back though and after 15 minutes of the second half they had moved 4-2 up. The boys did not let their heads go down though and Kaine scored again to bring us back to 4-3 after a great through ball from Nathan which set Kaine up for a one-v-one which he calmly slotted home off the post. Even at that stage we could have equalised and the game was very end-to-end but it finished 4-3 to Crookham.

Man of the Match to Daniel for a string of great saves and good kicking.

CAMBERLEY BOYS ROYALS 6 – 4 CROOKHAM ROVERS DEMONS

This game was played as a 6-a-side as Matthew was ill and Crookham kindly offered to even up the numbers. The boys played very well and quickly rushed into a 2-0 lead with two excellent runs and sound finishing from Miles. Crookham then responded to peg back at 2-1 before Miles somehow stayed on his feet to complete his hat-trick before half-time. Michael then scored his first of the season with a long-range effort before Miles scored two more to take his tally to 5 for the day (his fifth after nutmeg’ing the defender and more excellent finishing). Crookham then started to come back at us and the boys were made to work very hard to hold on for a well deserved win that finished 6-4.

Man of the match: Michael for his all round team performance (in goal and on field in the second-half) and his first goal of the season.

19/09/2009 NEHYL U10 Division 4*

Camberley Boys Royals  0    Beacon Hills Hawks  6

Despite the result this was a tireless performance from all of the boys. Not once did their heads go down and towards the end they started to play very well and created a number of good chances. The pick of these was the result of good pressure from Ryan and a pass on to Michael who then put Miles through for shot which thumped the post! Thomas worked hard all match and Michael, Miles and Ryan combined well throughout. Notable performances from Ben and Adam in defence some good stopping from Matthew in goal.

Player of the match to Adam for his tenacity and hard work.

12/09/2009 NEHYL U10 Division 4**

Camberley Boys Royals  6    Curley Park Rangers Tigers  0

Outstanding performance from all the boys! Notably from Ben and Adam who were stalwarts at the back and with forward runs throughout the match from Ryan and capped with two goals, the first of which was a Beckham-like lob from just inside the opposition half to take us 1-0 up at half-time. The second half was emphatic with FOUR goals from Miles either side of Ryan’s second which he score direct from a corner (with maybe the slightest deflection on the way in). Overall the boys all played really well and I don’t recall a better performance in two seasons from Thomas, Ben or Adam. Great stuff.

Camberley Boys Royals  1    Milton Pumas Wanderers  11

Farnborough Sixth Form College

FT 1 (Miles)-11 (HT 0-5)

Man of the Match: Ryan

Our goal was a wee peach and the result of a great clearence from Ryan down to Matthew who ran with the ball down the left hand wing, then crossed the ball onto Miles in the box, who stroked the ball into the net - GOAL!!!

Scoreline not important for this new U10's Royals team and is not a fair reflection of the game. We were ruthlessly punished for any mistakes made by a good Milton Pumas side. That said, we can take a lot of positives from the game - great debu's for Ryan and Miles, Mathew look's to have found his place in the midfield, and Thomas, Michael, Adam and Ben worked tirelessly. This was our first game and we can put this one behind us and look forward to next Saturday.
