Wey Valley 1
Camberley Boys Maroons 6
Camberley recorded a deserved victory against a spirited Valley side who competed throughout, especially in defence and midfield, but could not quite match the Maroons in the final third.
After yet another 4 week break, Camberley clearly lacked a bit of match sharpness but managed to play some really attractive football mixed with some periods of flatness in their play. However, the Maroons capitalised on their periods of pressure with goals from Jack Bolton (2), Tom Mortiboys (2), William Bevell & Jay Lenk-Smith.
The first half started evenly with a good ebb & flow to the game and both sides creating some half chances. However, it was Camberley that took the lead from yet another wonderful Jay corner that was bent in beautifully towards the near post and despite the Valley keeper getting a hand to it, the ball nestled in the net for Jays first of the season. Camberley upped their game and William Bevell made it two when calmly finishing under the keeper after a great William Smith through ball. Jack then recorded his first of the season when turning and shooting home in a packed penalty box. HT 3 - 0....more
