Camberley Boys Maroons 4 Crookham Rovers 0
Camberley produced a truly sensational performance against a powerful & skillful Crookham side whom were previously unbeaten this season.
Two goals each for Tom Mortiboys & Ben Spennewyn were the icing on the cake after a remarkable display from all sixteen squad members.
Crookham started positively and passed the ball around well and created the first few chances that both flew narrowly wide. Camberley began to get the measure of Crookhams flowing football and began closing down and hurrying all over the park. This injected more belief and the Maroons began to assert themselves and having gone close took the lead when Tom's inch perfect in swinging corner eluded everyone to land in the far top corner. Camberley continued to press and were rewarded for the second week running when Ben headed home another excellent Jay corner. Crookham continued to press but the Maroons defence were simply outstanding continually breaking up play in the final third of the pitch. As half time approached, Camberley scored a sublime third that summed up the spirit and team work in the side at present. Danny's ball down the line found Wills who skipped one tackle and tore down the left before skipping a second challenge and chasing a lost caused managed to keep the ball in before crossing perfectly across the face of goal. The cross eluded everyone but Will Smith again kept play alive before riding a tackle, winning another before the ball popped up to Ben who flashed a half volley into the roof of the net for a finish that will live long in the memory!! HT 3 - 0.
Crookham, to their credit, continued to play some smart football but were unable to breakdown a fantastically well organised defence. Camberley scored a fourth when Tom was brought down in the area and picked himself up to smash home the resulting penalty. The game continued to ebb and flow with Camberley looking the more menacing but the final whistle brought an end to a wonderful Maroons display.
Verdict: The complete team performance against a good Crookham side that will play worse than this a win comfortably. A performance based on work rate, commitment and no shortage of skill. The safe hands of Aiden and another near faultless display from Danny, George, Brandon, Lorro and the excellent Jay gave the platform for the engine room of Jack and Dan to break up play to release a potent strike force of Ben, Tom, Wills and William to do their stuff. As importantly, the subs of Matt, Max, George and Sam all filled in seamlessly to complete a wonderful team performance.
MOM went to the majestic William Smith who gave a display full of energy and skill.

Camberley Boys Maroons 7 Wey Valley 0
Camberley completed a comfortable victory against a much changed Valley side that are clearly going through a period of transition after losing some influential players but to their credit, did not let their heads drop and competed throughout.
Goals from Tom Mortiboys (2), Ben Spennewyn (2) and a hat trick from Brandon Plumb
were reward for a strong alround team performance.
Camberley started strongly and soon had Valley pegged back in their own half. However, Camberley had to be patient against some stout defending and good keeping. The breakthrough came when Tom wriggled free to calmly slot home and followed this with a good burst of space before expertly finishing high into the top corner to double the lead. The Maroons continued to push and scored a third after Ben headed home a Jay corner, whose delivery was excellent all afternoon. HT 3 - 0.
Camberley continued the second half in the same vain and added a fourth when Brandon's cross come shot looped over the keeper. Brandon added Camberleys fifth after another excellent Jay corner caused havoc in the Valley box leaving him a simple tap in. Ben then added a sixth after skipping past three challenges to calmly slide home. Daniel Ebs was then brought down in the box allowing Brandon to add his third and Camberley's seventh from the spot.
Verdict: Another strong performance from all area's of the pitch. The most pleasing aspect was the excellent display at the back with Brandon strong in all areas and scoring 3 from right back, Jay whom is improving game by game and delivered some wonderful corners, Danny whose distribution was excellent and his decision making on clearing or bringing the ball exemplary and the masterful Lorro who was just Lorro. Well done boys.
MOM went to Brandon whose play was excellent and a hat trick to boot.

Hook Utd 4 Camberley Boys Maroons 4
The Maroons travelled to Hook knowing their previous meetings over the last season and a half had resulted in three loses and the conceding of 20 goals. So you could have been excused for fearing the worst but Camberley chose to play their own game rather than worry about the hosts and put in a stunning performance that in truth could easily seen them take all 3 points.
Goals from William Smith, Tom Mortibouys and Ben Spennewyn (2) were just reward for a strong and stylish performance right the way throughout the team.
The Maroons flew out of the blocks and were camped in the Hook half but failed to convert some really good chances which came to haunt them as Hook scored from their first meaningful attack. Back came the Maroons and William Smith scored a deserved equaliser after cutting in from the right to side foot home. HT 1 - 1.
Hook started the brighter in the second half and took the lead when some nervy defending ended with an own goal before a third followed. Back came Camberley with a trade mark burst of pace and calm finish from Tom Mortibouys. Hook then scored again to lead 4 - 2. However, Camberley did not let their heads drop and Ben scored a fantastic sol effort, skipping past three challenges to finish expertly. Camberley sensed an equaliser and Ben duly obliged with another clinical finish to level the final score 4 - 4.
Verdict: An excellent team performance against a very good Hook side that probably warranted 3 points. Proving once again that if the Maroons focus on playing football and not worrying about the opposition that they are a match for most teams in this division.
MOM went to Ben Spennewyn whose workrate, enthusiasm and skill shone throughout (again) and clearly sets the bench mark for the rest of the squad to follow.

Camberley Boys Maroons 2 Farnborough Athletic 1
Camberley narrowly edged a poor game courtesy of two Daniel Ebsworth goals.
Camberley started brightly and were camped in the opposition half for the first ten minutes and were unlucky to see two Jack efforts fire narrowly wide. However, from there on in the game became poorer and poorer with both teams trading errors and long hopeful punts forward. Farnborough took the lead after a goalmouth scramble led to Brandon excellently clearing off the line twice before the third attempt landed in the back of the net. Camberley replied just before the break when Daniel weaved his way into the box and crashed home from a tight angle.
The second half was turgid and done little to cheer the cold onlookers until the last minute when Danny Wakelys desire took him through two tackles on the edge of the box only to be upended for a stick on penalty. It appeared that few wanted to take responsibility, so Daniel stepped up to smash the ball home.
On the day, a disappointing display from two disappointing teams that are both capable of playing some good incisive football.
MOM went to Jay, whom along with Lorro, showed what some effort and commitment can achieve and was a rock at the back.

Rushmoor Saints Rhinos 2 Camberley Boys Maroons 2
Camberley returned to league action after a 12 week break to deservedly share the points after a hard fought game against a well matched Rushmoor side.
Camberley started the brighter and created but failed to take numerous chances. However, Camberley continued to push and took the lead when a long Brandon throw was flicked on to Max who laid it to Ben to coolly slot home, giving Camberley a 1-0 lead at half time.
Rushmoor came back into the game in the second half a scored within minutes of the re start. The defence of Brandon, Lorro, George, Danny and Aiden were now under pressure but stuck to their guns. Ben restored Camberleys lead with a wonderful individual effort that saw him cut in from the left and move along the 18 yard box before unleashing a great shot that found the corner of the net. Back came Rushmoor to equalise and a strong defencive display saw Camberley protect their point towards the end.
MOM went to the excellent Danny Wakely who's energy, commitment and strong tackling shone throughout.

Camberley Boys Maroons 3 CPR Panthers 1
Camberley produced a stunning team performance to fully deserve a fine victory against a spirited CPR side. Camberleys desire, drive and passing and movement were a joy to watch after all 15 players played their part.
Two goals from William Bevell and one from Tom Mortiboys didn't begin to tell the story of a thrilling display that could have seen the score into double figures had it not been for a one man wonder show from the CPR keeper. Time and again, Camberley opened up the CPR defence only for the keeper to produce stunning save after stunning save, meriting numerous rounds of applause from all present. On the rare occasions that he was beaten the crossbar (twice) and post came to the rescue.
Camberley started in positive mood and were quickly into their stride. The defence of Aiden, Danny, Brandon, Lawrence and George along with the midfield of Daniel, Tom and Matt were first to most balls and moved the ball around beautifully to release the front line of William S, Wills and Tom. After a string of great saves from the CPR keeper, it became obvious that it would take something special to break the deadlock and that is exactly what Tom produced when crashing home an unstoppable half volley after patiently waiting for a through ball to drop. This was followed by a great team move that released Tom down the right to tear into the box and square for William Bevell to finish in some style to give Camberley a 2 - 0 half time lead.
Camberley continued to dominate in the second half but were pegged back by a well directed free kick into the top corner. Unlike previous performances, Camberleys commitment never faded and the away Keeper just continued to pull out stop after stop before a Tom free kick was half cleared to William Bevell who showed great composure to let the ball drop before placing another half volley into the back of the net. Tom and Ben then hit the crossbar and Daniel the post before the fresh legs of George, Max, Sam and Jay entered the fray to see the Maroons comfortably home.
Verdict: A wonderful performance that showed what can be achieved with team work matched with commitment and desire. Technically (as Arsene would say), this was probably the Maroons best performance in six seasons with some of the passing and movement extremely impressive, more please lads!!
MOM was nearly impossible as the whole team were outstanding and it would take something special to beat Ben and Daniel. That something special came in the shape of William Bevell whom was outstanding throughout. Two quality finishes, some wonderful passing and linkup play and some strong tackling (amazing what you can achieve when you do not turn your back on the ball!!!). More of the same please Wills.

Curley Park Rangers 1 Camberley Boys Maroons 2
Camberley deservedly edged a tight affair after another nervy performance. Goals in either half from Tom Mortiboys and Daniel Ebsworth were enough to see Camberley home after a performance that saw some hesitancy (again) in making themselves first to the ball and some lack of belief when leading.
The first half was an even affair with both sides showing a lack of confidence. Tom Mortiboys spin and finish gave Camberley a first half lead which was protected by another good keeping performance from Aiden.
Camberley had the better of the second half and went close on numerous occasions before Daniel Ebsworth tore through the home defence to finish in style to increase Camberleys lead. CPR got back in the game after a harsh penalty was awarded after William Smith won the ball just inside the area, albeit from slightly behind the attacker.
MOM went to the excellent Ben Spennewyn after a display full of energy and passion.

Camberley Boys Maroons 3 Rushmoor Saints Scorpions 4
Camberley and Rushmoor met for the second time in a week and provided another closely fought affair. Camberley again shone in the first half only for Rushmoor to dominate the second half again.
Camberley led 2 - 0 and 3 - 1 courtesy of a Tom Mortiboys hat trick but again lacked belief when they were clearly on top. Rushmoor sensed this and as with the previous week, showed bags of desire to deservedly take the points.
Camberley started brightly and took the lead after a sizzling run from Daniel Ebsworth took him past 3 defenders before unselfishly squaring for Tom to side foot home. Tom then raced clear to calmly finish for the second. Rushmoor, to their credit, never gave up and quickly pulled a goal back only for Tom to finish smartly to restore Camberleys two goal advantage. Rushmoor continued to push and pulled a goal back after some nervy Camberley defending.
Leading 3 - 2 at the beginning of the second half, Camberley failed to produce last weeks solid defencive display and two poor and scrappy pieces of defending were punished to allow the visitors a win that over the two games they deserved. A special mention to Aiden who was faultless with the four goals and showed yet again what a good keeper he is.
Verdict: Another good first half followed by a poor second. If you let your heads drop and lack belief when winning, then chasing a game when you are behind becomes really difficult, as the Maroons found to their cost today.
MOM went to Tom Mortiboys for 3 pieces of clinical finishing.

Rushmoor Saints Scorpions 2 Camberley Boys Maroons 4
Finally, after three defeats but with two improved performances recently, the Maroons of old decided to make an appearance. A fantastic first half attacking performance, a missed penalty, a gifted penalty and a second half defencive "backs to the wall" performance were all on the menu in an action packed game.
Trailing 1-0 early doors, Camberley produced some dazzling attacking play and goals from Daniel Ebsworth (2), Tom and Ben to lead 4 - 1 at half time before a solid defencive display saw them home in the second half.
Rushmoor started well and after a period of pressure took the lead. This seemed to stir the Maroons and the rest of the half was dominated by Camberley's attacking play. Daniel Ebsworth finished excellently after a Tom through ball to equalise and followed this with another cool finish after Ben slotted the ball through. Camberley continued to play some really pleasing football with everyone linking well, especially Tom, William Bevell, William Smith, Daniel and Ben. Tom then latched on to a another Ben pass to finish in some style as the keeper bore down on him. Ben scored the goal his play deserved before Camberley were awarded a penalty. Que bizarre scenes as the ref made Brandon take the penalty a yard inside the area, 5 yards further out than the spot ( or lack of one ). The resulting penalty ( free kick was more apt ) was smacked against the post and Brandon fired the rebound over from 3 yards.
The second half was dominated by Rushmoor who, to their credit, never gave up and launched wave after wave of attack without really creating a clear cut chance. However, Brandon, Lawrence, Max, Danny, Jack and the excellent George and Aiden stood firm and repelled the home side, despite giving away another penalty which was converted.
Verdict: A fantastic first half display saw some really good passing and movement was followed by a heroic rearguard performance in the second. Camberley deserved the win on their first half performance but Rushmoor can count their selves unlucky as their committed second half could have turned the game on its head had the Maroons defence not performed so well.
MOM went to the excellent George Wheeler who did not miss a ball all day, regularly provided the last ditch tackle and clearance and maintained focus throughout.

04/10/09 NEHYL U13 League Cup
Farnborough Athletic 1 Camberley Boys Maroons 0
Camberley were unlucky not to have forced extra time after a cracking cup tie between to rally well matched teams. Camberley were somehow denied an equaliser after a forceful
second half showing that saw the home keeper in good form, some near misses and a shoot cannoning back of the crossbar.
The first half was a really tight cagey affair with both teams defending well and challenging all over the park. Farnborough had slightly the better of the chances but were again met with a great keeping display by Aiden, including a wonderful tip around the post after a header that had goal written all over it.
The second half was a close as the first but it was Farnborough that took the lead. This signalled a spell of Camberley dominance which saw Daniel Ebs shoot narrowly wide, Tom saw a effort go wide and Ben and Wills had chances saved. Camberleys afternoon (and season so far) was best summed up when a clever pass from Daniel found William Smith 16 yards out who unleashed a thunderbolt that hit the underside of the crossbar, bounced on the line and span out to safety.
Verdict: A really well contested game just shaded by the home team. Camberley can count themselves slightly unlucky but if the attitude and work rate stay the same and the passing improves, a first win of the season is not far away
MOM deservedly went to William Smith who is returning to his usual form with a performance full of energy and skill that deserved a goal.

Darby Green Giants 2 Camberley Boys Maroons 1
After two poor performances, Camberley put in a performance to be proud of against a strong and classy (and much changed) Darby Green outfit.
Trailing 1-0 at half time, Tom Mortiboys brought Camberley level before a fantastic Darby strike gave the home side the points.
Darby started very well and their extra class opened up the Camberley defence on numerous occasions. However, Aiden in goal was in outstanding form pulling off numerous wonderful saves including a fantastic triple save, diving athletically to keep out a certain goal and recovering to block two follow ups. The goalkeeping heroics seemed to lift the team and Camberley slowly began to make their mark with Tom firing wide and Brandon bulleting a header just over. However, it was Darby who deservedly took the lead when Camberley were caught on the ball and a burst of speed and good finish made them pay. This spurred the boys on and the rest of the half was very even.
The second half was more even than the first with Camberleys sheer team work and commitment matching Darbys more fluent play. Camberley deservedly got the equaliser when Tom pounced on some hesitant defending to prod home. Camberley continued to show bags of spirit but were undone by Darbys extra class when a loose ball on the edge of the area was expertly crashed into the top corner. Camberley refused to give up and despite pressurising the Darby goal and final finished could not be found.
Verdict: A very welcome return to form from the Maroons against a strong and classy Darby side. Camberley showed desire and commitment but more importantly managed to keep their shape and belief throughout. Well done boys, more of the same please!!
MOM: With everyone putting in a good performance, Daniel Ebsworth deservedly took the spoils for an outstanding display of energy and clever positional play.

Camberley Boys Maroons 2 Rushmoor Saints Rhinos 4
Camberley were again found wanting after a disappointingly disjointed performance. Goals from Tom Mortiboys and Matt Eldred gave Camberley a 2 - nil lead but the away side didnt let their heads drop and battled throughout to earn an impressive victory.
Camberley got off to a good start when Tom raced clear to finish and Matt E finished expertly after a wonderful save from the Rushmoor keeper fell to him on the edge of the box. However, instead of building on their good work, Camberley lost their shape and their passing became ragged. Rushmoor, to their credit, sensed this and came right back into the game. Rushmoor got back into the game courtesy of a defensive error and then equalised with a penalty after a Camberley handball, leaving the score 2-2 at half time.
Camberley became more ragged in the second period and despite trading chance for chance with the visitors, Rushmoor had more belief and scored two more to deservedly take the points.
MOM went to William Bevell who stepped into goal at late notice and had a good game and had no chance with the goals.

Camberley Boys Maroons 0 Hook Utd 5
Camberleys season got off to a disappointing start after a lacklustre display presented a good Hook side with 3 easy points.
Camberley needed to be at the top of their game to match a Hook side that scored 15 goals past them last season. Unfortunately, Camberley appeared to have talked themselves out of the game before a ball was kicked and went on to deliver a display that lacked commitment, drive and belief. This encouraged the away side who dominated for long periods and fully deserved their win.
MOM went to Brandon Plumb who shone throughout and showed bags of commitment, drive and belief. Hopefully, this will rub off on the rest of the team in time for next Sundays game.
