Camberley Boys  2

Crookham Rovers  1

The last league game of the season saw the U15`s host Crookham Rovers Bulls at the Frimley Rec.

On a pitch of questionable quality both teams worked hard in the early stages to keep possesion in the blustery conditions but it was Camberley who settled first looking to control the midfield and work the ball out to the wide players stretching the Crookham defence. Several chances went begging but the boy`s looked relaxed and continued to try and play good football.

The break through came form a decisive through ball from Kieran, playing on the right of mid field today instead of on the wing, sent Jamie and Dharu through on goal, beating the on coming keeper and Dharu guiding the ball into the net to put the home side 1-0 up. Other near misses accounted for the rest of the half being played into the wind with Darryl and Chris free to roam and only poor finishing keeping Crookham in the game.

The second half began with Crookham looking alot quicker and more motivated as they pressed for the equaliser. Bill covered all the goal attempts with an air of confidence that took the burden off the back line and slowly the team took back control of the mid field areas which are so key to controling the game. ....more
