Camberley Boys 2 Crookham Rovers 1
The last league game of the season saw the U15`s host Crookham Rovers Bulls at the Frimley Rec.
On a pitch of questionable quality both teams worked hard in the early stages to keep possesion in the blustery conditions but it was Camberley who settled first looking to control the midfield and work the ball out to the wide players stretching the Crookham defence. Several chances went begging but the boy`s looked relaxed and continued to try and play good football.
The break through came form a decisive through ball from Kieran, playing on the right of mid field today instead of on the wing, sent Jamie and Dharu through on goal, beating the on coming keeper and Dharu guiding the ball into the net to put the home side 1-0 up. Other near misses accounted for the rest of the half being played into the wind with Darryl and Chris free to roam and only poor finishing keeping Crookham in the game.
The second half began with Crookham looking alot quicker and more motivated as they pressed for the equaliser. Bill covered all the goal attempts with an air of confidence that took the burden off the back line and slowly the team took back control of the mid field areas which are so key to controling the game. As Crookham pressed forward the through ball from deep in Camberley`s half possed major problems for the sparce defence and again it was only the finishing that let the boy`s down . Shots over the bar and blasted passed either post let Crookham off the hook but when Darryl took a free kick mid way into the half which was inch perfect, grazing the underside of the crossbar on its way to the back of the net, thoughts of the 3 points on offer spurred the team ever onwards.
Crookham did manage to penetrate the Camberley back line on more that one occasion though and were `awarded` a goal when a lone striker chipped Bill on the edge of the box to see his efforts cleared off the line by Tom sprinting back in support when others had given up. However a goal was awarded but hotly desputed by both players and linesman which with the benifit of a replay would have been upheld.
The team carried on at the restart and continued to dominate the remaining minutes. Crookham who had had chances of their own were the beaten side but on the day and for a number of reasons the score line should have read a greater margin than actually achieved.
All the boy`s worked hard and played some entertaining football. Some of the moves were crisp and a delight to see and those players covering for absent colleages performed well in unfamiliar positions.
Man of the match today was a hard decision with Tom the eventual recipient, awarded for his composure and directness in pressure situations and for several brilliantly weighted place kicks into the box just crying out for the final touch. His goal line clearance too showed great determination.
A great way to end the season and well done to all the boy`s for the result today and for their dedication to the campaign of 2010.

Curley Park Rangers 0 Camberley Boys 3
The fixture this week took the U15`s to Curley Park at Bagshot to play the return match of this seasons campaign.
After a dissapointing result 2 weeks previous the team had trained harder than ever to set themselves up for a match which would be the penultimate one of the year and given the tightness of league table placings could, given the right result, see them leapfrog their nearest rivels and still with a game in hand.
The pitch at Connaught Park was well worn but level and with the weather holding off over night remained mostly well drained.
Early exchanges saw Curley Park press forward as they had done weeks before but with out conviction and the defensive quartet of Jochan ,Tom, Josh and Ollie were easily able to deal with the limited threat. Bill in goal looked sharp and brought confidence to the back line as controled back passes were swiftly returned up field. Curley Park played good football in attack but relied on the long ball from out of defence which was generally dealt with cleanly by Darryl and Jamie in the centre. Ball delivery from the midfield was excellent and brought the wings into the game spreading the home side and opening up passages onto goal which the forwards exploited. Mid way through the half and Curley Park found the pressure mounting as Camberley, full of running, forced repeated errors from a fragile defence and although not fully testing the keepers reactions produced several quality shots not far from the target
All even at half time with both sides still looking for the goal, Camberley took to the field in the second period determined to prove their credentials as a quality side. The break through came within minutes as Darryl found the back of the net after forcing his shot through a crowded penalty area . Chris, playing centre forward this week added another for his first of the season and Curley Park were beaten.
With 15 minutes to go and all the game being played in the home sides half of the pitch, Camberley were awarded a penalty as Chris was brought down in the box at the end of a powerful run on goal. Handed the responsibility he duly dispatched the ball cleanly passed the keeper who correctly guessed the direction but not the power of the strike and Camberley had the 3 points for an afternoon of brilliant football.
Curley Park resigned to defeat put up a stern defence for the remainder of the game and with a series of desperate goal line saves and clearances, blocks and challenges kept the score at 3-0.
At the final whistle the boy`s had secured the double over local rivals Curley Park and a valuable 3 points to lift the team up the congested table.
Man of the Match went to Kieran Woodham who out played the home sides defence on the right and produced quality cross after cross for the forwards to latch on to. Today the boy`s knew the win was paramount and got the result they wanted with a show of determination and quality football.
Well done to all the team.

Camberley Boys 0 Liphook Utd Lasers 6
Back to the sixth form ground for the return visit from Liphook Utd. This time the pitch was in good order and the prospects for a good match were very much enhanced by the good weather.
This however was to be the only bright point in an afternoon of dissapointing proportions. Camberley warmed up well and the team looked ready for the contest despite loosing their captain before the game with a bad back and neck injury. But having taken to the field began the match full of nerves and indecision and quickly found them selves a goal down within the first 5 minutes. Number 2 followed shortly afterwards and with out learning from the mistakes went 3 down in the first quarter of an hour to a Liphook side that had struggled against us some weeks before. The team had to contend with 2 more goals before half time in easily this seasons worst start to a game. Liphook were jubillant and pressed harder looking for a rout but in the final 10 minutes Camberley, regained some composure, played there own game, and although didn`t look strong enough to score kept the away side on their toes right up to the break.
Strong words and a double substitition brought about a change of fortune in the second half and where Camberley had looked unsure and vunerable they now stood firm and made Liphook look a more even opponent. Still Camberley failed to penetrate the Liphook defence, bringing the ball in from the wings and driving it forward from deep in mid field resulted in the same reply and back they had to come for another try. Dharu and Sanjay who were having a torrid time up against 3 defenders who stood head and shoulders above them eventually found a way through and over a period of 10minutes had several clear cut chances to reduce the deficit but failed to capitalise on their own hard work. The defence unfortunatly evaporated just once more as Liphook regrouped and once again beating Bill in goal to the ball and finishing cleanly.
The last minutes of this disheartening encounter were all Camberley as the boys strove to correct what went wrong the half before, and in finding the spirit to battle for every ball, however too late in the day, did enough to bring some form of consolation to a miserable afternoon.
It wasn`t as if the team didn`t play well. Some of the build up play was a pleasure to watch but once the opposition had the ball the resolve wavered and the team became unsure of its own ability and what should have been a well balanced game became a lesson in self belief . The determination so desperatly needed in the first half was self evident in the second even to the extent of goal line clearances with the keeper well beaten showed better awareness and commitment.
Today Camberley were well beaten and must regroup and find that team spirit again if they are going to finish the season on a high. Man of the match Jamie Curling

Camberley Boys 2 Curley Park Rangers 1
Our first home fixture since late January and after 2 weeks of enforced inactivity Camberley played host to Curley Park at the Sixth form college. The weather cold but with bright sunshine above the eagerness to get underway was self evident as Camberley from the whistle took a firm grip on proceedings and produced some of their most confident play seen all year.
The new line up brought Jamie Curling into the left mid position to play along side Andy and Josh and straight away showed how good team work can lift a teams spirit and confidence. The defence too was a little different today with Chris playing just infront of Darryl as an attacking defender. The result was a stronger midfield and defensive platform from which to build and how well it worked to day with Camberley in the main giving no quarter and controling the centre of the pitch throughout the game.
Debutant Jamie played himself firmly into the squad with quality ball control and delivery which the rest of the team used as inspiration to up their game. With several shots from a variety of distances delivered within the first 15mins our forwards severely tested the Curley Park keeper who proved to be a competent shot stopper. Dharu and Sanjay worked tirelessly to break the dead lock linking well with Andy and Jason on the flanks who stretched the defence at each attack with determined runs up each side bringing the ball in to the penalty box or producing quality crosses from the by-lines.
It wasn`t untill very late in in the half that the score line changed with Curley Park, completely against the run of play, breaking through the defensive line and eluding Bill in goal to slot the ball home to take an unexpected lead. The team were stunned and played out the remaining seconds of the half quietly.
After a shortened half time talk the team refocused and with the captains coment ,` the only mistake we are going to make` still fresh in their minds they set about looking for the equaliser.
Fittingly it was a captains goal that brought the sides level. A corner from Sanjay expertly weighted to the front post where Jochan headed cleanly onto the top corner. It deserved a replay and the team responded. Curley Park continued to make infrequent ventures over the half way line but non to test Bill in goal and with our mid field in full control a delivery to Sanjay on the edge of the box saw the inform striker blast a shot at the angle to which the keeper could only parry into his own net.
With Camberley now in front the confidence went up a level and Curley Park were lucky not to conceed again when Kieran fired against the upright form an accute angle on the right and Dharu seconds later shot fiercely just over the bar.
Camberley remained on top for the rest of the game but were unable to increase the score line further and the game finished as it had started with the boys on the offensive.
Valuable points for the team the reward for a dominant display against a team well capable of upsetting the form book.
Man of the match went to Jochan who played a true captains role in keeping the team focused and for not only encouraging his team mates but delivering the telling equalising goal to put his side back on track.
Well done to all the boys.

Liphook Utd 3 Camberley Boys 2
The Bohunt school grounds were the venue this week for a game which had been posponed several times already this season because of the weather. The pitch was very soft under foot and likely to cut up but both teams looked sharp as the match began and quickly adjusted their games to suit the conditions which in the end however were going to have a vital role in the games outcome.
Camberley have a habit of starting slowly but today they pressed Liphook hard from the whistle. Their goal keeper was kept busy in the early stages, and the team were unlucky not to take the lead as the forwards out ran the defence only to produce a series of tame finishes.
The game settled to an even contest with both teams probing for weaknesses. Liphook`s front line were well matched with Camberley`s defence which gave no quarter and dealt with the pace and skill from their central strike force well.
Bill in the Camberley goal was looking comfortable and from a thunderous fly kick sent Dharu and Sanjay forward which, with linking midfield support fresh from the training ground, gave Dharu the space to cleaverly elude the Liphook right back and fire Camberley into the lead mid way through the half.
Camberley upped the pace and looked eager for no 2 but were concious of the threat Liphook posed on the counter attack.
The mid field showed good composure with Kieran playing a central role instead of his usual wing position offering good supporting play linking defence to attack. Dharu continued to pressure the Liphook back line and Darryl and Chris stood firm at the back.
Liphook`s equaliser owed much to the pitch when a shot at low level bobbled in front of Bill who had to change his posture and the ball went between his knees. This event spured Liphook into a period of sustained pressure in which Bill redeamed himself several times over as he kept the scores level .
At half time the talk was of sustained pressure and positive play and Camberley regained the lead with just that ethos.
Sustained pressure lead to an outswinging delivery from the right from Sanjay looping the defence for Andy to accept and drive home from close range on the far side of the goal.
Again the second half settled into hard but equal football with both sides unable to find the finish required. Liphook continued to press hard for the equaliser and this gave Camberley the opportunity for an attack on the break. However over exuberance and a punishing run from the home sides quality forward line and Camberley surrendered the advantage as the defence failed to clear .
The draw was going to be the fair result but bad luck had its part to play again as a viscious shot was parried by Bill only to see it spin on the uneven surface and loop into the open goal around the hard working keeper. It was a sickening site for the gallant away side who hard done everything right during the game to take at least a share of the points.Liphook finished the game still under pressure as Camberley threw everything at them in the dying seconds but held on to secure the win.
The whistle ended the game and both sides turned to congratulate each other in a quality show of sportsmanship.
Liphook proved their credentials as one of this seasons top sides but Camberley could hold their heads high as they too showed how well they could play.
Man of the match was a close run thing with so many players showing battling spirit, pride and determination, but in his role as link man Kieran Woodham took the award for his quality heading under pressure and forward thinking .
Well done to all the team on a battling performance.

Camberley Boys 1 Headley Scorpions 5
The hard ground and cold conditions did nothing to the Headley side who ran out comfortable winners at the sixth form ground this afternoon.
Camberley who had had a reasonable return to football action the week before approached the game with enthusiasm and confidence looking to overturn the away result just before Christmas. This spirit however was only evident up to the first half whistle and with the half over and only 1-0 down to a very efficient side, Camberley had every thing to play for but saw fit to give the game away in the second period.
Headley who played some of the best football evident all season quickly quashed any Camberley resolve to make a comeback with an early strike and for most of the second half had goalkeeper Bill Wilson extreemly busy as he did his best to keep the tiring home side in the game. Camberley could not find a way out of their defence and chose to defend rather than exploit a vunerable stand in goal keeper.
Camberleys goal owes much however to the tenasity and determination of one player as Andy O Brien cutting in from the left drove solidly home and so show that Camberley did have some fight left in them. Another emphatic strike at the other end was so nearly counteracted by a powerful shot from Darryl Crowder who siezed on a poor defensive error to plant the ball well away from the keepers outstretched fingers only to have a very late offside call ruin his day.
Camberley then allowed Headley the full run of the pitch and if not for an in form keeper would have run away with the result.
A disappointing afternoon for the team who know that they could and should have played a lot better.

Crookham Rovers Bulls 2 Camberley Boys 2
After yet another extensive period of inactivity Camberley travelled to Crookham in a mid table encounter, and so with the snow and frost abaiting for the weekend leaving only the cool breeze for comfort, the long awaited game kicked off.
True to form Camberley started slowly testing the defences and proofing their own before upping the level of play and taking the game to Crookham. Early chances came with Sanjay and Dharu both coming close after good work from the mid field duo of Chris and Josh who had an early command in the centre of the park. But as the half went on Crookham came back into the match as they too settled to the task. It was the home side who took the lead against the run of play in the dying seconds of the half when the Camberley defence was undone by a lofted through ball leaving goal keeper Bill with a 1on1 loosing out on this occasion to a well placed strike.
Half time, and words of encouragement were the only ones needed at this point with the team looking strong and reasonably comfortable. The equaliser however proved to be a little bizzare with the final touch comimg off a Crookham boot as a last ditch block from a good strike from Kieran completely wrong footed the Crookham keeper who up to then had looked good for a clean sheet.
Crookham regrouped and took full advantage of the home venue pressing forward and eventually finding the net again with a long ball over the top. The bounce favoured the attacker who drove solidly home from 5 yards out.
At 1-2 down the Camberley team was reshuffled to allow a double substitution to take place and gave greater freedom for Chris in a strikers role and bringing Payam into the mid field and Ollie to left back. The result was immediate.
Chris forced his was through the mid field, played a quality ball to Kieran on the right cutting in from the wing. He was able to slip one defender and find Sanjay on the edge of the six yard box. With work to do Sanjay powered his way through the 2 defenders in front of him and managed to beat the approaching keeper into the bargain. At last the Camberley team had shown their metal. They continued in this vein right up to the final whistle.
The evidence was there to see with the whole team trying their best to secure all the points in this absorbing encounter.
Man of the match this week went to Darryl who had worked tirelessly in mid field breaking up Crookham attacks, delivering quality crosses and himself forging through defensive lines at every opportunity. Tired at the end he deserved the trophy.
Well done to all the team

Headley Scorpions 5 Camberley Boys 1
Five weeks after their the last game Camberley travelled to Headley in a mid table encounter leading up to the Christmas break. The rain had ceased but left a cold breeze and overcast skies and with it a Camberley team feeling the effects of the enforced lay off.
Headley took the lead with in 10 minutes completely out playing a static defence who watched on as the easily shot passed Bill in goal.5 minutes later Headley`s second from the same player shooting low to the right evading Bills outstretched fingers. The team looked stunned but continued to play with spirit but with out fore thought. Time again the boy`s were undone by long balls over the top and through passes leaving the hard pressed keeper to attempt the impossible. Heads dropped when no`s 3 and 4 went in with out reply and the team looked a poor image from that succesful afternoon against the league leaders 5 weeks ago.
Headley however relaxed sufficiently with minutes to go in the first half to allow Camberley time to catch breath and take stock of the situation. The game was already lost and perhaps this factor took the pressure off the team because as a light switch is turned on so Camberley upped thier game.
After a short but purposeful team talk at the interval Camberley took to the field determined not to allow this to become a rout and despite letting in another goal from such an incredible angle as to question as to its legitimacy the team now had new purpose and matched Headley ball for ball. Substitutes Ollie for Jason and Payam for Man joined Jochan on the touchline to see out a very competitive second half which Camberley had the lions share of any fortune on offer.
In coming on for the un well captain, Tom showed that composure and a purposeful delivery can turn a game as he effectively stiffled the Headley attack from his right back position and with an inspired Payam in the playmakers position feeding inch perfect deliveries to the wings Camberley were out playing their opponents in most area`s of the pitch.
New determination within the squad put the match back on an even keel and Camberley`s goal was just reward for a whole series of quality moves and passes cumilating in a well driven shot low to the keepers right from the inform substitute Payam.
More quality chances followed as Josh who had been quite for long periods in the first half now linking with Dharu and Andy on the wing found space to shoot low for the right hand corner only to see it easily gathered by the keeper whose antisipation of the shot was spot on but who minutes later was completely undone by a move started from the defence and cumilating in a fierce drive across the face of goal which Sanjay at full stretch only just unable to connect with, keeper well beaten.
Camberley punnished for a very poor start had salvaged all their pride and despite the score line left the field in good spirits and looking forward to the return fixture .
Man of the match went to Payam Dinavand who as replacement early on in the second half made the mid field his own and created space and opportunities for his team mates through quality passing play.
Creditable second half performances from Kieran Woodham, Tom Hunt, Andy O Brien and Chris Waddell added to the usual effort and determination from Sanjay Baniya and Dharu Tamang .
Well done however to all the boys for not letting the poor start ruin the day.

Theale Tigers 2 Camberley Boys 3
Today Camberley made the journey to Theale Tigers in the return fixture with the league`s current leaders. The over cast sky and cold wind however did nothing to dampen the spirits of the squad who settled quickly looking to over turn the home defeat of 2 weeks previous.
Early pressure from the home side put Camberley`s resolve to the test but was brushed aside within 8 minutes when a powerful run from Josh Collett through the defense and combining well with Dharu Tamang to bring Theale`s goal keeper into the game. The shot in the end was weak but minutes later great forward play from Jason Carter, Dharu and Sanjay set Josh up for his first goal as he drove the ball convincingly in to the net with the keeper soundly beaten. Spured on Camberley pushed up in numbers and Josh was able to poach his second minutes later after an unconvincing defensive display from the home side allowed him to slot the ball home at close range.
2-0 up and Camberley were playing the best they have all season. Training ground drills came together and with the defence standing firm the midfield of Darryl Crowder and Dharu had space to set up counter attacking play bringing the wings into the action and stretching Theale at every opportunity.
Theale began to rely on the long ball and made Camberley pay late on in the first half when Goal keeper Bill Wilson was caught just off his line and beaten by a hopeful more than placed drive from 20yrds out and was just unable to reach it as it sailed in under the cross bar. Unperterbed Camberley sensed the win and continued the half where they began dominating the mid field and playing confident football.
The half time break saw 2 Camberley substitutions bringing in Payam Dinavand and Andy O`Brien for Tom Hunt and Man Rana who had given good service in the back line with powerful defensive clearances and quality ball play in supplying the forward line. Initially Theale pressed hard for the equaliser bringing the best from the Camberley keeper who was having a confident game between the posts. But it was the away team that increased their lead with fluent football to set Sanjay off to the right of goal unleashing a fierce shot from the edge of the box which flew passed the keeper rooted to the spot.
Theale once again re grouped and upped their game to keep the Camberley defence very busy in the latter stages of the game and were rewarded with a goal with 10mins to go as again the through ball left a one on one with only the keeper to beat.
But as time wore on Theale left the back door open in their search for the equaliser and were nearly punished on several occasions as Sanjay out ran the weakened back line.
Camberley held firm and finished with all the points in this crucial fixture bringing them up to third in the league table against the run of form from both sides.
Man of the match this week went to Josh collett who`s work rate in the first half was first class and despite tiring late on showed how determination can win the day.
Well done to all the boys.

18/10/09 NEHYL Div 3
Camberley Boys 0 Theale Tigers 5
Today Camberley could be said to have given their best but fell short of the mark in this seasons clash with top of the table Theale. However for most of the first half it was Theale who found themselves under pressure as the team set about the task with passion and skill.
Reported to be a good passing side Theale were finding it hard to settle as Camberley hassled and chased every ball capitalising on any error and turning possession into goal scoring chances. But unable to finish the quality ball play Camberley fell victim to over enthusiasm as they left the back door open for the long ball counter attack and Theale`s quick forwards scored twice in a 10 minute spell midway through the half to dampen hopes of a victory for the home side. Even at 2 nil down Camberley pressed on with the attacking spirit firmly believing they could get something from the fixture and at half time the mood was cheerful and confident and rightly so as if luck had played its part the shots on target from Sanjay 2 and Dharu should have given the team a 3-2 lead.
Theale for their part took to the field a different side from that which had done just enough for the lead in the first session, and despite Camberley`s best efforts effectively closed off the approach to goal and took command of the midfield showing why they reside at the top of the league table. Camberley looked tired as Theale slotted their third from a corner kick as the defence watched on and when a hopeful lofted cross drifted silently into the Camberley goal the resolve finally broke.
Theale added another late on which made the score line look excessive and despite a late rally from the hard working attack the lack of a goal on the day and the lift it gives to a team was probably the difference between the two sides.
Theale ground out a victory with skillful quick ball play sapping energy and determination from tiring limbs in a game that they only had full control of for one half.
Camberley matched the favourites for this years title for 40minutes playing quality football in all areas of the pitch with impressive contributions from Josh Collett, and Chris Waddell and stern defensive heading from Man Rana providing a firm foundation from which the whole team benifitted.
Man of the match this week went to Tom Hunt who showed considerable improvement in his role of central defender in this hard fought game.
Well done to the whole team.

Camberley Boys 4 Petersfield Town Cougars 2
With 2 goals in each half Camberley avenged the close defeat of 2 weeks previous against a quality Petersfield team currently lying second in the division.
The team were under no illusions that this was going to be a hard match but from the kick off imposed themselves fully on the away side and dominated early play to bring about a well deserved lead following a classic strike from Jason Carter, in space on the left and able to neatly place the ball past the keepers outstretched hand in a crowded penalty box.
Petersfield came close to equalising soon after but their attack broke down and the shot effectively smothered by a efficient defensive trio of Chris, Tom and Jochan working as a confident unit protecting Bill in the Camberley goal.
Team work played an important role in the result today and as the game continued Camberley worked to bring everyone into the game using width and depth to their advantage. Kieran especially made the most of the conditions with tenacious tackling and determination to stretch Petersfield`s defence and allow the new forward partnership of Sanjay and Josh to flourish. Sanjay netted convincingly following his own fierce strike which hit the far post beating the keeper completely and returning for the follow up which was simply despatched.
Confidence rose again when new recruit Payam squared up and unleashed a thunderous strike which the keeper just managed to get a hand to and deflect around the near post from 25yards out. A good save and well applauded but equally for the strike which shows the team has yet untapped resources for the coming games.
The half time talk centred mainly on continuing the good work but brought about 2 substitutions giving Tom and Andy in defence a rest and returning Dharu and Josh to their more usual positions in an attempt to finish off the game.
The changes brought about possibly Camberley`s best spell of play with Dharu netting in usual style after a confident through ball from the midfield allowed him the small amount of space to turn the defender and shot from close range and as Petersfield`s resolve wavered Dharu was brought down 20yards out to provide an opportunity to stretch the lead further.
Dharu himself took the free kick and scored with ease to bring up the 4-0 score line.
But as the rain began to fall again Petersfield rallied and following some poor defensive play Camberley had lost the clean sheet with only 10 minutes to go. Minutes later and the score line looked less of dominance and more even as Petersfield showed great determination to salvage some pride from the game and fired home their second as again the defence left Bill unprotected. But the team had done more than enough in the earlier minutes and had sufficient in the tank to be on top at the final whistle and looking again like extending the lead when the referee brought proceedings to a close.
A good performance from the team but with work still to do Camberley must tighten up to protect that which they had worked so hard to achieve.
Man of the match went this week to the captain Jochan Embley who was an inspiration to the whole team and whose commitment and encouragement was as strong at the end as it was at the begining. Well done

04/10/09 NEHYL U15 League Cup
Manor Colts 5 Camberley Boys 2
This was the third fixture against the same opposition in almost as many weeks as Camberley made the now familair trip to Alton to take on Manor Colts in the first round of this seasons league cup.
Camberley were missing their captain Jochan Embley and were without Ollie Barrie from the defence as they took to the field on a cool afternoon by the Watercress line in a match which should have been a close encounter.
The start looked promising with some good passing football and quick moves up front enough to show the team looked hungry for a win but with Manor taking the lead 10minutes or so into the first half after a series of poor clearances Camberley once again were having to come from behind. The equaliser was crafted from a long ball over the Manor defence and almost deflected rather than headed into the net by Dharu Tamang under pressure from the Manor centre back. But in it went and Camberley regrouped.
The remainder of the first half was memorable for Manor Colts taking a leaf from the Camberley book and playing the long ball out of defence and running through a anxious mid field to take on the goal keeper 1 on 1. Bill did his best and blocked several clear cut chances but was unable to keep the scores level on his own and Camberley were 3-1 down at half time.
The game continued to elude Camberley`s grasp and despite flashes of skill and determination from many areas on the pitch the result seemed inevitable. Manor scored again with pace and expert delivery completely out manoevering the Camberley back four and following a near perfect cross slotted the ball passed Bills out stretched hand to make it 4-1 and put the game out of Camberleys reach.
But as is the case on many previous matches the team has a habbit of finding a little bit extra when all is lost. Darryl found the net in emphatic style with a perfect strike that left the Manor defence looking on the keeper rooted to the spot and suddenly the team came to life. It was too little to late to salvage the result but for much of the remainder of the half Camberley took the game to Manor and played good attacking football to restore some pride on the day.
Manor managed one last strike to sew up the tie and ran out deserved winners 5-2, a result the exact inverse of the previous fixture.
This was Camberley`s off day and the whole team shouldered the blame for the poor result. Man of the match went to Dharu who from the teams lack luster performance showed pace and skill once again, the trade marks of his game.

27/09/09 NEHYL U15 Division 3
Petersfield Town Cougars 4 Camberley Boys 3
The first of this seasons `big `games saw Camberley travel to Petersfield and to Taro Centre to play top of the league `Cougars`. The home teams impressive start to the season in which they had scored no less that 11 goals in 2 matches with only 2 in reply pointed ominously to the task in hand and Camberley were thoughtful as the whistle went for kick off.
As it turned out, a little too thoughtful as the home side cruised to a goal in front within minutes of the start, their forward line simply running through the sleepy defence and netting at close range from a tight cross.
It has almost become to be expected from the side that they need time to assess the opposition and formulate between them selves a game plan but equally will leave themselves open to pressure in the early stages. So it was today with Petersfield making all the running and Camberley doing all the chasing as they sought to control the game, but as before they answered their own questions with a period of dominance in mid field which was only thwarted by an infringment in the penalty box as Dharu was brought crashing down giving Darryl the penalty kick to bring the scores level.
Emphatically taken the team regrouped and settled into the game. The defence locked together and gave the midfield confidence to press forward and the forwards took on the home teams defenders with a new confidence.
Several opportunities followed but the game had taken on a even feel with both teams looking for something different and eventually Camberley were undone by an individual run and strike from posibbly Petersfields best player who was just able to shoot across the face of the goal from a very occute angle leaving goal keeper Bill Wilson stranded.
Un fazed by the pegging back Camberley continued to play the better football and Dharu came close to the equaliser minutes later as a near perfect delivery was put just wide of the near post.As the team pushed on it was Jason Carter out on the left wing who latched onto a poor clearance from the under pressure Petersfield defence after a fierce shot from Dharu was parried and Camberley were level.
The home team however rallied late on in the half to pull away and lead 3-2 at the break despite heroics from Bill in goal and some excellent defending from Ollie and Tom as they tried to hold out for the whistle. But heads remained `up` as they left the field at the break and the determination was there at the start of the second half which featured 2 replacements for the injured Kieran and overworked Ollie. Andy O`brien took the left back position and was immediatly tested by a refreshed Petersfield forward line but dealt proffesionally with the situation showing good pace and delivery to send Sanjay Baniya scampering away in one of several early Camberley sortee`s.
Josh and Darryl had by this time taken charge in the mid field returning the ball and block defending setting up attacking moves from deep in their own half which inspired the team to push on, but a cruel long ball which took a turn on its bounce allowed a fortunate opportunity which Petersfied were pleased to accept and Bill could do nothing about and Camberley were 4-2 down .
Heads looked to the floor but were soon lifted by team encouragement from an inspired captain who today refused to give up. Jochan despite his own battles with the opposition forwards gave time to instruct Camberley`s newest recruit Payam Dinavarnd playing for the first time at right half and from some well worked play on the right came Camberley`s 3rd goal as Sanjay lashed the ball into the left hand corner from 20yards out.
Camberley were once again playing the better football and Dharu should have leveled soon after but instead recieved nothing after a poor tackle left him holding his face as he went for goal. Darryl playing with a sore foot after a first half stamping shot over the bar and Payam unfortunatly rushed his opportunity for debuit glory and fired across the face of the goal from 10yards out.
At the whistle Camberley were beaten only by time. They left the field having all the posession and yet non of the spoils of this hard encounter. Petersfield new they had been in a quality match and were please to keep their 100% record but only just.
Man of the match went to Josh Collett who typified the determination and courage of the whole team on the day.

Camberley Boys 5 Manor Colts Sportiv 2
Return fixtures do not usually arrive within a week of the first encounter but so it was that Camberley played hosts to Manor Colts at the Sixth Form ground just 7 days after loosing the opening game of the season to them at Alton.
The afternoon began with both teams arriving early as if to state the importance of the game. Manor, with 2 wins out of 2 were keen to continue their good start to the season whilst Camberley needed to put last weeks result behind them and over turn the defeat.
Right from the kick off Manor looked positive. Their composure on the ball and speed of movement showed they were there for the win but unlike the previous encounter Camberley stood their ground and looked for the break in play to impose themselves on the Manor back line.
Several early chances went begging. Dharu, in determined form out run the right back to set up a shooting chance only to be crowded out at the last second and forward partner Sanjay equal to the task shot poorly form close range.
The boy`s regrouped and absorbing the pressure of Manor`s forward quartet again set up attacking moves on both flanks with Jason and Sanjay penetrating the opposition defence but unable to finish cleanly.
Manor clearly saw this as good fortune and pressed with greater purpose to be rewarded with the opening goal just after the quarter hour mark. With the defence stretched to the limit Bill was unable to keep out a crafted shot to give the visitors the lead and dampen Camberley`s early hopes.
The next few minutes saw the well matched sides battle it out within the mid field zone, neither team willing to relinquish control of this vital area and striving for openings within each others defence. Camberley, seizing on a spilt ball sent Dharu and Sanjay through on goal and the pair completed the move in characteristic fashion to bring the scores level to cheers of encouragement from players and spectators alike.
But as so often happens the euphoria was broken up when some poor defending 5 minutes later allowed a swift passing move to end in a well taken shot and Camberley were 2-1 down with 10minutes of the half remaining.
Again Camberley settled to the task. Manor pressed hard to capitalise of their lead with Camberley relying on the safe hands of Bill Wilson in goal to keep the scoreline acceptable, twice being asked to make match winning saves from close range when Camberley`s defence buckled. They were lucky not to fall further behind when a looping shot beat the keeper at full stretch only to bounce under the bar and fall fortunately in front of the goal line for Jochan to willingly clear up field.
Shortly afterwards Tom took a ball square in the face as he charged down a strike on the edge of the box and new defender, Man Rana, not easily moved, was bowled over as Manor forced their way on goal as the defence closed together. As time ran short Camberley broke out of defence and for once over ran the Manor midfield completely to give Dharu the opportunity to equalise which he did in emphatic style. The balance restored Camberley played out the remaining minutes of the half with confidence and with everything to play for they were pleased with the 2-2 score line.
With half time discussions over the boy`s took to the field with greater resolve. From the side lines they certainly didn`t have it all their own way with Bill still busy in the Camberley goal but in spreading the ball wider and playing out of defence using the wings the team began to tire the opposition. Twice Sanjay went close afer flowing moves through the centre and with Andy O`Brien playing a determined and composed game at left back the balance of play was turning in the home teams favour. Andy himself shot at distance just looping the keeper at on to the net after following a well constructed move from deep in his own half and the teams confidence grew again.
Dharu added to his 2 first half goals to bring up this seasons first hat trick and Jason got his reward for all the hard work put in by adding a fourth minutes later.
Manor now were quiet. Silenced by Camberley`s dominence over the whole field. The defence soaked up all that they could muster and delivered quality balls for the mid field and forwards to exploit and with their resolve broken Darryl, who had worked tirelessly all afternoon, chased down what the opposition thought was a lost cause, brought the ball back inside from the corner flag and struck a powerful shot which the struggling Manor defence could only parry into their own goal.
Minutes later the final whistle blew. Camberley had been in a terrific battle with a strong imaginative side in Manor Colts and had prevailed through self belief and physical effort. They all deserved to be mentioned as to a man they played with passion and determination all to the best of their ability.
Man of the match this week went to Andy in recognising his hard work and determination throughout the game.

Manor Colts Sportiv 4 Camberley Boys 3
The first game of the 2009/10 season began as a hastely scheduled fixture with Camberley travelling to Manor Colts in Alton as one of several teams not involved in Hampshire cup matches this week.
Both teams took to the field looking nervous and ill at ease with the task in front of them. Countless errors in the early stages led to end to end football with little substance and an air of mild panic decended on the ground with both teams feeling the early pressure.
It was Manor Colts who settled first and brought calm to their endeavours. There style of play began to open up a fragile Camberley defence who with several out of season changes in their line up struggled to have any composure on the ball and relied on loose kicking to thwart attempts on goal. Behind them though the new goal keeper Bill Wilson stood confident and resolute and for his efforts on the day received the man of the match award for his commitment.
It was therefore against the run of play that Camberley took the lead with a well worked goal from Jason Carter slotting into an open net from an inch perfect cross from Sanjay Baniya. The relief was measurable but short lived as Manor bounced back to level the scores after mounting pressure had seen defenders Chris Waddell and Darryl Crowder block countless shots and break up scoring opportunities from a frustrated home side.
The second half began better for Camberley with more patience and thought being put into the game. The passing game took shape and with more commitment in the tackle the boys looked a different side. Unfortunatly as in the first half the better team does not always reap the rewards for its superiority. Manor replied within minutes to rock Camberley back and once again the nerves took hold.
A quick team reshuffle brought new life to the mid field but with Captain Jochan Emberly leaving the field with a back injury Camberley needed to up the pace again if they were to get anything from the game.
Spirits lifted however when last seasons top scorer Sanjay equalised after Chris had powered his way through the defence to set up the attempt on goal. Seconds later Camberley`s run of good fortune continued when Darryl shot solidly home from just inside the box to retake the lead in this hard to predict game. Darryl had another chance on gaol from a free kick awarded after poor tackle brought Dharu Tamang crashing down 25 yards from goal. No fairy tale ending here though as the shot flew several feet over the bar and Camberley had to regroup.
How Camberley needed the 2 goal cushion. Manor, spured on by the good luck took full control of the dying minutes equalising with a quality goal and then almost cruely poaching the winner minutes from time when a corner failed to be cleared. With no time to reply it was Manor Colts afternoon. The managers agreed a draw would have been the fairer result but football once again won the day. As unpredictable as ever no result is certain until the final whistle
